One Account Limit

Hi Weblonians,

We have had some problems with a few members who are opening multiple accounts. We are taking steps behind the scenes to prevent this and we have also implemented a system to prevent users from opening more than one account from the same IP address.

There may be the odd case where two family members have separate Weblo accounts in the same house and in those situations we will consider allowing two accounts with the same IP.

What about college students in dorm rooms? Wouldnt they and their roommates have the same IP address? Only one of them can join weblo now? What about the millions of people all over NYC and Boston who all have roommates? They mention the family member thing but then anyone making fake accounts could just say that they live with their family and the other accounts arent theirs. The one positive thing though is that it is a good sign that weblo is constantly making changes here and there and that they are communicating through those stories on the homepage much more often now.

i am sure if they contact weblo and explain then maybe theyll let certain circumstances as above go,,,they mainly wanted to prevene one member from making multiple accounts all day long type thing....big cities,,is why u shouldnt buy them...lololololol..is all convuluted,,,go to the bedroom cities,,,big cities no good here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's about time!

This is definitely a step in the right direction and should help stem the flood of bullshit celebrities and cheater accounts :C)

I can see it being a snag for people sharing an IP address like roommates, family members, and such, but I think the benefit will greatly outweigh the inconvenience and I applaud Weblo for *finally* taking steps to close this loophole.
