It'd be interesting to see a team of say 4 members all working on the same portfolio of assets. 1 dedicated to promoting outside Weblo, 1 dedicated to promoting within Weblo, and 2 dedicated to working on content and SEO. Such a team, if skilled, could potentially be a power house within our community.

Obviously any proceeds would be divided between the team members, but I'd be willing to bet that 1/4th of the teams earnings would be more than one individual would earn on their own.

As individual players we each wear many hats such as content developer, SEO guru, marketer/promoter, social networker, researcher, etc... Imagine having a team where each person focuses on their specialty and the other tasks are left to the other dedicated members.

I had an idea something like this last year with Weblo Power Players, if anyone remembers that.

Anyway, just exploring thoughts and ideas here... Any thoughts?

Not just one site, but an entire portfolio of assets.

Suppose 4 members each gift 25 assets to a 5th account that all 4 players collectively own. The resulting portfolio would be a balance of celebrities, domains, properties, and cities - 100 assets in total.

Each member would do their respective part to grow the group's holdings with the idea that their collective efforts should produce better results than the sum of their parts.

One member would focus on promoting the group's holdings outside Weblo using blogs, forums, and other methods of cheap promotion. If successful, the group could budget for some paid advertising with it's proceeds.

Another member would concentrate on promoting the group's holdings within Weblo by linking back in ratings comments, community forum posts, and image comments, while recruiting community members, encouraging community activity, requesting ratings, and all that good stuff. Again, if some profit is being made, the group may be able to budget for some inside advertising.

The remaining 2 would focus on collecting and optimizing content. One might gather photos, news clips, biographical information, etc while the other lays it out and works the SEO magic to it all.

As payday each month comes the group's earnings would be divided among the members, probably by buying a token asset from each player then gifting it back to them.

I don't know that the level of trust and degree of cooperation necessary to do this are among us, but the skill level certainly is. If our top members in their respective areas of expertise worked together rather than independently toward the common goal they'd, no doubt, be a force to be reckoned with.

Unfortunately, it has been my experience that organizing people this way can be much like herding cats... People have different ideas, pride/ego gets in the way, and other issues tend to muck it up.

I could see a group RL friends, a family, or some students pulling something like this off, but they are unlikely to have the skillset to produce real results like we have here in our community.

At anyrate, I was updating some stuff and had the idea, so there you go :C)
